Millions of Americans pop antidepressant medication without ever having been diagnosed with a psychiatric illness.

A quarter of patients who take drugs like Zoloft, Lexapro or Prozac are not actually suffering from depression or anxiety disorder – rather, their doctors have given them the drugs to treat insomnia, moodiness or relationship problems, reports Reuters.
